Put a facelift on my 2009 model. Used the PowerfulUK bumper, spots etc.

Had it painted on the driveway by ChipsAway, did a superb job for less than half the price of the local paint shop! £220 plus VAT and he also polished out a load of scuffs and scratches whilst the UV lamps were cooking the bumper, for no extra. Well chuffed with the service.

I've got him coming back to flatten and the paint the black mouldings, skirts, mirrors etc as I was so impressed with his work.

Drove home from a weeks break in Yorkshire Dales - poured with rain until we were about 80 miles from home.

Same with fog/mist. People rely on "auto lights", but the sensors often don't register the poor viz because the light levels are still high. Jules

Never been there before but beautiful countryside; had a cottage in Smardale, couple of miles outside Kirkby Stephen. Technically just inside the Cumbria boundary.
Didn't see a bus all week, no bloody sirens or 'kids with their hats on backwards' racing about. Bliss.
Back there again in September, but staying on the east coast Thumbs Up

Ha ha... funny enough, If I take the path of least (traffic) resistance it is about fourteen miles - that hadn't even occurred to me when I saw that reading... Very Happy Lexus RX450H - 500 mile a week commuter- I just couldn’t trust in a newer RRS or DS for that….
2009 Freelander 2 HSE... 155K miles, we’ve done 135k of those, has done brilliantly on the commute and staying firmly put as car two in the household
2002 Jaguar XK8 Coupe... fun, fast, ours for 12 years and owes us nothing - so staying with us too…

Nothing today technically but spend the weekend taking the family to Paultons park and Peppa Pig World. Great though tiring weekend to be fair and the Freelander performed brilliantly. Stopped at Leigh Delamere services on the way home only to have a PRA when I came back out with 3 or 4 off road prepped Discovery 2s parked next to us, no photos though as sadly they where so close we couldn't open the N/S doors so had to move to get the wife and one of the kids back in!
Average for the trip (by the trip comp) was over 39mpg - pleased enough with that. Andrew

United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Dynamic Manual Santorini Black

Tuesday afternoon was rear brake day - new pads and disks & a clean & lube of slider pins, all very straightforward and easy but you will need a T50 bit for the disc retaining screws.

Yesterday afternoon was Major service time, flex head ratchetting spanner made the oil filter housing removal doable - without it I don't think I'd have been able to get at it without a spot of spanner bending Laughing

Is there a good way of fitting the new pollen filter I wonder - seems a very daft design as you need to bend the filter and kind of roll it in to its housing.

I used this for priming the fuel filter (in place on vehicle) connected to the outlet that I believe goes to the HP pump & then fuel rail - the one that comes with a red cap on the new filter & right of the inlet from tank. The tubes were a perfect push fit on the output stub.

Thanks to the contributors of the threads I reviewed before doing these jobs - always great to have a resource like this forum for a bit of pre job preparation Thumbs Up Thumbs Up 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Manual Dynamic

Ah... You'll likely get to drive the dirtiest FL2 Wink I ever saw while your car is up in the air... Bewdly is a not unpleasant little place and thanks to having the use of the mucky motor (a manual but itdrives well enough), we had a nice lunch down on the riverside recently when we did our same day round trip for Hx service & R/D oil change. Thumbs Up
