Hi , I'm new here so please be gentle . I'm thinking of buying a 07 freelander 2.2 gs with 65000 miles on the clock and the price is £11000 with full service history . My questions are -

1- is it a fair price ?

2- what problems should I look out for ?

3- should I shop around considering my budget is £12000 and if so what should I expect for that sort of money ?

If you're buying from a dealer and getting an approved warranty you should be covered for most major problems, although clutch can be regarded as a wear and tear item and thus not covered. Overall the FL2 is pretty reliable.

As for the price and shopping around, have a look at LR's approved used vehicles site http://www.usedvehicles.landrover.co.uk. This will give you an idea of what's available and what prices are like. But to give you an idea, the cheapest FL2 listed appears to be £11,303 (for a 57 S with 76K miles) so the price sounds reasonable if the car is a LR approved vehicle.
