Window frozen solid !!!

Cleared the snow and ice off the FL2 this morning, set of down the lane, at the junction pressed the drivers door window button to get clear view of oncomming traffic and nothing happened Confused The mechanics had obviously frozen solid can I expect this to be the norm in severe weather ?? Only had it couple of months.. Not used to this problem on the ol defender the windows usually came down when you cranked that little winder on the door. ( needed yer gloves on tho, so bloody cold in the cab for first hour. Laughing Anything I could spray them with to help in future ??? lucan400

To me that would be normal if frozen ice/snow had bridged the glass and rubber seal/metalwork. I would have sprayed de-icer outside if I thought I needed to drop the window before the inside temperature did the job for me later on in the journey.

When I properly de-ice my windows there is no need to wind my windows down to see clearly,

Even then if in want to wind my window down the glass is frozen to the seals for a short time

Happens in freezing weather nothing abnormal about it Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Once again, use this stuff
http://www.einszett.co.uk/Gummi-Pflege.php

It lasts for absolutely ages, I'm still using my first bottle!

I wouldn't use Vaseline, it perishes rubber eventually.

I have the same problem with frozen windows but I have to open mine to use my pass to get out of the works car park. End up having to open drivers door which is a real pain as there is only inches for the door to open.

Might need to reset the m now as well - mine did it the other day where I tried to open when Ivey and they got stuck - I subsequently had to reset them...

Lift up. Lift up and hold for 2s
Push down. Push down and hold for 2s
They should now work Thumbs Up Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Thanks for the replies. will order some 1z einszett Gummi Pflege Stift and see how it goes.. With regard to the sound advice about parking it in the garage during bad weather..It wont fit.!! The Defender 90 had plently of space and I always put her away for security reasons, but when I changed to the FL2, its much bigger. I must admit I was really surprised. I know, should have taken a tape measure to to showroom. Laughing lucan400
