Folks,
V cold over most of the UK tonight.
Be sure your wiper switch is 'off' and not auto before you start your car tomorrow until the screen is defrosted.
Could save a nasty mess and a unwanted bill  Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Come rain or shine it's the one thing I do all year round, is check the wipers are off when starting Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Although not related to the cold snap of present, mine came on whilst in a car wash last week and gave me quite a surprise.

Managed to turn them off a bit quick and luckily no damage was done, but could have been!! So a good point to mention...

The Blades freeze to the screen, bends the arms, burns out the Wiper Motor

Not got auto ones on the GS  * GONE. GS TD4 Manual MY2013. Orkney Grey with privacy, cold and clearview packs, armrests (a must!) and a spoiler.

Thanks, not much worry of that here. The blades are more likely to melt to the screen lately.

Mine moved and then cut out, is there protection on later cars or by turning them off have I saved them, don't seem bent at all, still work fine Fortunately, will get new ones when the frosts have abated.

Problem is there is a EC requirement that the motor must continue to run for a least 15 secs in a stall condition.
Some motors have a thermal cut out, some wont stop until they go back to park.
In any event, it's often to late on a frozen screen Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
