Sootfilters.

Hi Guys , I am an intruder from one of the other LR forums (Disco 3). I have a friend in Holland who has/is about to get a Freelander 2.2 td4. He has paid some €300 for a "soot filter" At point of sale he was told 3 to 4 months delivery for this item but the dealer now tells him it maybe a year before it arrives.
Please what is a soot filter? Has his translation got things mixed up or is there a problem with this item of which I have never heard?

Soot filter will be a Diesel Particle Filter

If you search for it in the search page it has been discussed at length

Along with which oil to use, as some dealers have been placing incorrect oil in at delivery

Sootfilters (Rußpartikelfilter) are standard in Germany - they're required by law on diesels. Doesn't Holland have similar emission laws? I'd be surprised if it has a 1 year delivery time in Holland. - Mike
