The Science Behind Engine Oil. A Potted History.

All,

I found this illuminating article re the evolution of engine oil to todays synthetics truly exciting, and I have kept it since. It was at a time when synthetic oil was relatively new to the everyday marketplace and I wanted to be informed before spending (at that time) quite a lot compared to the semi' products.

I hope you also find its contents rewarding in the link below

I forgot to add:

For those of you who found the link absorbing, particularly the second half, I would welcome your feedback.

Kind regards, Toadshall

Strange, the only feedback I can give is my anti-virus immediately closed the webpage and told me the 'threats had been cleaned. Confused Laughing

It may be a false positive but I'll link a screenshot in my gallery for anyone else.

The Volvo Owners Club (VOC) (in the link) is well established and has been known by me for many years. My AVG did not flag up any issues. Anyone else? Confused 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

It opened fine for me this time, I believe it was a 'false positive', I'll do a bit of light reading tomorrow.
