England

I once hit a fox on the M5 near Bristol, my father was with me, a Merc Technician for over 30 years, the C Class we were in holed the sump with the foxes leg, he said keep the motor running and oil will stay in the engine. It did and we got home, over 200 miles, the car is still knocking about today.
Not sure if the ford engine does a similar thing, if it does then hopefully little, if any damage will have been done.
Hope it's sorted satisfactorily for you Thumbs Up

Youd have to be very very lucky though to get the fox to put its leg in the sump plug as you drove over it.
