Still to go a few hours, but... a Happy New Year for all the Freebie lovers.

And let the software updates be so marvellous, so sophisticated that no "no start/reset" does any longer occur, not here and not elsewhere in Planet Landrover (but perhaps still on Mars and Uranus).

If time is a constant, how are the years rushing by faster as I get older?

Happy 2007.... I mean 2008. Thumbs Up

I saw this the other day over on RRS.

Sounds like an adventure, and they have put together a great itinerary, but I don't think i could afford it though.

Though I did like your Iceland Idea, but the £1000 ferry ruined it Shocked Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

The ferry fare includes a 3 day stop-over in the Faroes on the way south as the ferry schedules between Iceland and Faroes and Faroes and Lerwick don't meet up. The trip involves ferries between Aberdeen and Lerwick, Lerwick to Thorshaven and then onto Seydisfjordhur on the same ship. http://www.allferries.co.uk/symril-line.htm
The ferry crossing to Iceland can be a severe test of the stomch if the weather doesn't want to play! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Thought the scenery on your video links was nice terrain to be driving across

Would love to visit Iceland, though i nearly did some years back, when me and a mate found out that there is more ladies on the island than men, and priced up a trip to go dancing to records and lots of drinking.

Bros. in Law had his honeymoon in Iceland, said was very expensive, and he spend £4000 in 5 days though i think his hotel (5*) was included in that price Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I worked there for a year and yes it is expensive - but if you go on your hols in your car the fuel you buy there is tax free, they gauge your tank on arrival and you pay duty on the fuel, then they give you vouchers to discount any fuel you buy there! The first spell I worked up there the country was "dry" when I went for a 2nd tour they had resinded the alcohol rules but made the prices so high that nobody could afford to buy it anyway! It was all done to appease the journalists covering the Regan / Gorbachov arms limitation talks! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
