I'm sure I'm teaching granny here, but check there isn't still a piece of protective film over the sensor on the TV. Some Humax PVRs got a bit of a reputation for poor performance of the remote, and it turned out that people were failing to notice, and thus remove, a piece of film. The film was reducing the sensitivity of the sensor. |

good attempt but I used to work, there is no film, either the sensor in the tv is weak or has moved slightly out of line with the viewing hole. Im not keen on disassembling the surround to solve the problem. must be a rare fault as I googled it and found no other mentions.

This will be my next set - agree about sending sound thru hi-fi amp and speakers. My Sumo class A with Tannoy speakers bring everything alive.

You should have LH and RH audio out on the back of the tv. Just run an audio cable from each to the LH and RH input on your hifi amp or pre amp. The digi-box also has audio output sockets. Richer Sounds tend to have slightly out of date kit but at good prices. Not only do they do a 5-year warranty, they will REFUND the cost of the warranty after 5 years if you don't claim.

No probs EY ![]() And I think I can help you. Firstly, have you got a hi fi amp with a spare input? Is so ,you can use that and there are several ways to hook it up. Modern tv's have got rid of the RCA audio out unforunately, but are ways around this. Just using external speakers won't help as the amp inside tv's are all carp, I mean 15w peak music power? What's 'peak music power'? About 2W RMS i think. Currys/Comet etc have never ever sold anything that resembles a decent sound. Just lots of bling with no gumption.
