Is this a Land Rover, or not? The new LRX

Here are photoes of the new LRX. Freelanders little brother. The article says it will be 1 cm shorter than Freelander 2, 25 cm lower. Nothing about how wide it is.

But is this a real Land Rover? I am not sure. What do you think?

Viking, You are to be congratulated. I have been trying to find these images but every site I visited had already been contacted by Land Rover and had withdrawn them. A very good posting. Is it a true L/R? I do not know but Range Rover Stormer spawned Range Rover Sport and that is said to be pretty smokey off road. A smaller L/R must be a good thing if you consider how much bigger F/L2 is compared to the original still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

in order to develop a car with excellent performances, it is not really necessary to make it look ugly.

(even if lots of excellent cars look ugly though...)

Imho it looks terrific - but I wouldn't buy one if it didn't be at least as good as the actual FL2 - on the road and off-road.
So it is a bit too early I'm afraid.

(however I don't think I would ever buy a 2 doors.)

Good point QUERCUS. Having looked a little bit more at the LRX, I believe the LRX will be a welcomed member to the Land Rover family. It is a development and opening of a new segment.

Perhaps I should get one for my wife when the LRX comes out? Wink 2008 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Automatic, Caspian Blue, Alpaca, Moon roof, Exclusive pack.

When deciding if you like the LRX, bear in mind that it is based on the Freelander 2 running gear and chassis. It will also use the current range of FL2 engines. Personally I think it looks great.

The Sun Newspaper has reviewed the LRX and Ken Says

Quote:
KEN'S VERDICT

JUST brilliant! The stunning LRX underlines the fact that Land Rover are one of the great brands in the motoring world.

It shows that Land Rover are also deadly serious about tackling the CO2 issue, because this is the acceptable face of 4x4s - clean, green but still very mean.

The LRX is why people will continue to love 4x4s, because they are such fantastic all-round vehicles that meet the needs and the desires of the modern family

I beleive there are two of them out there in the world and this one I saw a while back as being for sale over here a month or so ago for around GBP 150k + I think.

They would have paid a nice amount for the plate as well. Once you've tasted GREY you'll never go back!
