Rear post black cover removal

Hi chaps,

In my never ending search to cure the most annoying knocking, I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the black exterior covers that are adjacient to the boot lid? They appear to be fixed inside the boot opening, but I cannot work out a way of removing them.

The clunk that I get sounds to come from this sort of area, perhaps the gas strut is knocking against the body, I don't know and despite three trips to the dealer, they cannot trace it either!

Any help appreciated.

Neil.

That's a good question!. My nearside rear cover actually will move up & down about 5mm , so I'm as curious as to what the attach is!

Open boot lid, pry out the two black studs and the cover slides off.take care when removing studs as they get mangled easily best to use a wide thin steel spatula type thing rather than a screwdriver
