Bluetooth Drop Out

Hi All,

I am having an issue with the Bluetooth phone connection in my car. The car is a 11 plate GS and the phone is an HTC Sensation running Android v4.0.3. I also have a Nokia C1.

Both phones connect OK and I can make and receive calls. However during the call the Bluetooth connection drops out and I have to reconnect in mid-conversation.

I had it serviced at the weekend and the dealer couldn't find any problems.

Has anyone else had this issue and have you found a solution?

Thanks,
CC

Hi,

We've noticed this too after upgrading our handsets to ICS (4.0.3 on Samsung Galaxy S2). The Gingerbread firmware seemed happy with the LR Bluetooth provision, but it seems like ICS might have broken it... Big Cry

After a bit of Googling, this seems to be a common issue with cars and Android phones after the upgrade to ICS. There even appears to be a workaround on Google Play:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details...hKeepalive

I'll be giving this a try (probably with the missus' phone) to see if it does the trick.

Thanks,

Same here with my iPhone till I removed the rubber phone cover some weeks back, it hasn't lost any connection. Well not in the last couple of weeks that I notice.

Thanks, I will give that App a try. Still doesn't explain why the Nokia does the same thing. But it is good to know I am not the only one having this issue.

Early days, but it appears that the App I mentioned previously resolves the issue for Android ICS phones - well, it does for my wife's Samsung Galaxy S2!

I'll post back when/if I have more data.

Thanks,

A week on now and I can confirm that we've experienced no Bluetooth audio drop outs in the car. So the App seems well worth the 80-something pence!
