key doesn't work

Ok, my first real problem with the car. The remote doesn't work on one of my keys. It won't open the door anymore. If I use the manual key, you have to open the passenger side and the alarm goes off every time. My wife got caught the other night and the only thing that worked was the back tail gate. She had to crawl in over everything and was very happy about the experience. She told me quite a few times Smile
There is no battery so I have to buy a remote. I have extended warranty but it isn't covered. I think the warranty only covers 3 of the 4 screws holding the glove box in but only on tuesdays and thursdays....or so it seems Smile Does anyone know what they cost over in the UK and if they are in stock? I can get one here for about $250 but none in stock so a bit of a wait.

Hi
Try using the key that does work, to let you in the car. Then use the key that does not work to start the car. This should recharge the internal batteries Smile www.justgiving.com/toptobottomtractorrun

Already did. Used the good key to open the car, went on a 1000km drive using the bad key up the coast and along a few fantastic beaches....driving next to a big pod of dolphins.... but still no joy. Big Cry

New key needed, unless you are handy with a knife, soldering iron, new battery and superglue. There is info on here how to replace the battery.

Thank you Simont. I don't recall reading that thread before. Well done, I'm trying it when the battery is available. Cheers Thumbs Up
