Broken glovebox

Glovebox no longer damped on opening, just crashes straight down. Anyone else had this? What was the fix? Thanks, mojo

Hi Mojo

There is a small damper that clips to the glovebox. It's either come undone or has broken.

This happened to mine last week! It nearly broke the kneecap on my ICAS (in-car advisory system (wife!)). It is the lower end on mine, where one of the lugs has broken off. I was going to fix it with some locking wire (I used to live in Yorkshire and some 'cheapskate' must have rubbed off on me) but now finding they are so inexpensive it's hardly worth the effort.

Did mine myself think it cost about £2.60 and is easy to fit about 5 min.

Thanks guys, as it's still just in warranty the dealer can fix it for me but at least I can get them to order the part in so I don't have a wasted journey for them to "look at it". It does look pretty simple to do yourself though.
