Trailer feed to Alko ATC unit permanently live. Any ideas?

Just fitted a 13 pin dedicated trailer wiring harness/socket to my 2011 FL2 HSE.
It was supplied by PF Jones and is manufactured by "Right Connections"
No vehicle reprogramming yet.
Everything works including the trailer indicator repeater on the dash and fog lamp suppression, but not the disabling of the rear parking sensor. (think that's part of the reprogramming)
However, even with the car ignition off and key removed, the green ATC warning light on the caravan is staying on.
I believe this is powered from the same feed as the fridge.

I will call PF Jones in the morning, but just wondered if anyone has had the same issue?

I am sure there was a voltage sensing relay somewhere on the old Disco that controlled the feed to the fridge based on vehicle voltage. Is thyere something similar I need to find on the FL and give it a tweak?

Cheers

Think I may have answered my own question !!!

On studying the Alko website it appears that the ATC unit should be fed from the permanent live feed on pin 9 and not an ignition controlled one ! Embarassed

Yes ATC is on permanent live, some have queried the current draw if left hitched although it is supposed to be very low. Prog rock is cool! Smile

I haven't touched the fuses on mine Nick, but have been on ATC for three years now no problems.

Thumbs Up

Cheers, new system to me so wasn't sure and it came up when I search for 13 pin adapters

I need to look at changing the electric to a 13 pin with one of those adapters till the new car comes along (not that i have ordered/chose one or anything)

npinks,

I wasn't sure if the 15a to 20a fuse upgrade was needed on the old twin socket set up only, or on the newer 13 pin as well.
I upgraded the fuse on our Disco 3 as we had the twin type sockets.

I have done the same on the FL2 which may or may not be wise, but I figured if the ATC needs 20A max, then even with the newer 13 pin set up, it will still need 20A.

But looks like it might not be an issue anyway based on ad210358's good feedback.

My van has the ATC fitted and the fuse has not been changed from the original one fitted. I have been many miles with the ATC connected and it hasnt been a problem. I also have not had any problem with current drain though in reality the caravan is not attached with the engine not running for long ( motorwa stops etc.). Ralph
