Just popped to kemble for a spot of breakfast, upon pulling away I did not use the accelerator and just used the clutch changed through the gears into to fourth. Got up to 30 mph, I noticed the doors did not lock as usual untill, you use the
Accelerator/throttle

So they don't lock on speed as many seem to think

Very random!

Oh and breakfast was delicious!

so doors wont lock if car rolls away, gives you chance to chase it jump in and brake before it rolls of a cliff, runs over a pram etc etc.

basically the auto locks need some driver involvment before it locks At work

They lock on my auto without accelerating. I guess that's because there's a slight 'drive' as it creeps forward Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

but in an Auto you have actively put it in D , so a driver must be in the car, fools who get out with car in D are not accounted for At work

You're right, CG. I thought that after I'd sent the post. As you state, it has to have driver involvement. I doubt it'd self lock in manual, rolling down a slope. At least, I hope not  Gone - TD4 XS Auto, Sumatra Black, Mud flaps and side strips, clear indicators, private plate, privacy glass

Mine was in gear driving it self basically. Got it up to 4th before I joined in

But it does relock if you open it and then ignore it for a minute.

So you could if you wanted, stop, get out leave the brake off, lock it, unlock it, wait for it to relock then push it over the cliff hoping you dont change your mind as it rolls away.

you could just push it off the cliff unlocked, makes very little difference in the end At work

We use to do Extreme chinese fire drills! Put the car in first low range, everyone out run around the car and back in!
