My FL2 has running boards. Do I need to take these off before I do the east Devon Trec Day? I don't mind if they get scratched, but I don't want to get stuck because of them...

I did East Devon Trec day last year and there were several FL2 in both groups and I'm sure a couple of them did have sidesteps fitted.

I'm having an awful job trying to find a company that will insure me for the Trec Day. Any recommendations out there from people who've done similar before? I only want 1 days worth of insurance, but my current company won't cover me.

I tried A Plan first, but they said they don't do 1 off days... I've tried every insurance company on the web, and can't seem to get 1 day cover for an event.

I wish land rover had pointed out such difficulties before I paid 150 quid to go on a Trec Day which it looks like I'll have to decline due to lack of insurance.

Just had a great day on the East Devon Trec Day. I still can't believe how I can waft along the motorway surrounded by leather and toys, and then in the same car negotiate terrain like that! Amazing.

Most amazing of all was that the Freelander got up hills where Defenders and Discovery's struggled, without even breaking sweat.

I now look at my Freelander in a new and very respectful light.
