All I know is that my engine seems a lot quieter since its Duckworths service last month, where I supplied the Castrol Magnatec 5w-30 A1. It was previously serviced by St***stones Stockton - oil not known. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

Most dealers do not seem to grasp that models with DPF require a different specification of oil compared to non-DPF models. Anyone driving a DPF model needs to beware and check they have used the correct spec. It seems they just continue to use oil from the bulk tank in the corner! |

DPF Models require an oil that meets ACEA C1 Standard 5W-30.

Marshalls in Bedford have prominent signs in the Service Dept explaining which oils they use (and yes, they do use a different one for DPF models). |
