Yet another question from a new member

Hi,

I have been reading through the forums for a while now as I am considering changing my Audi A4 2.0 TDi for a Freelander 2 GS.

Could someone with a GS with the multichanger option please tell me if it plays MP3's off the CD's or is this only on XS and above.

Thanks for the advice, Thumbs Up

Steve

ps. Thanks for the excellent info so far on this forum. I am sure that I will have many questions to follow. Bow down

Nice to see someone else on here from Aberdeen Thumbs Up

Don't have the multi changer option fitted on mine so can't really answer your question. We find using the iPod through the audio socket on the centre consul is very good though.

My SE plays MP3's on CD but its the premium Audio system

Would this be the same as upgrade? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi there StevenA, welcome on board ...

I have a GS with standard sound system and have asked about upgrading it. The information I've been given both by the dealer and a couple of aftermarket in-car specialists is 'I'm stuck with what I've got'. So although this doesn't help answer your question directly you are doing right to get the answers now because once you have the car it seems your will have no further choices.

I was surprised at the lack of dealer supplied options, but that's what I've been told.

Avtur, the advise you got may be applicable for the UK. Here in Germany we have the electronic-components company Dietz-Electronics, which has specialised in adapters for all car brands and car types incl. MOS/DOS applications. They also offer (plastic) frames to replace the original fascia of the audio unit , and to accomodate the after-market replacement audio unit of your choice.
Just google and look what they have to offer.

Thanks for the help so far.

I have not been able to find any adaptors to enable fitting an aftermarket stereo.

Think that it is still a bit new for that but time will tell. Rolling Eyes

Cheers,

Steve
