Australia 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Fuji White
Looking for a new SE

Have already decided that I will purchase an SE. I have researched this decision to death. The real question is when!

I know that there are 2 sales per year, but the "end of financial year" sale did not include the SE.

My memory (from 2011) was that in December all demonstrators and '11 plated cars had the dealer and on-road costs covered, (which was about a 5K saving) Assuming this happens again, does anyone know if a car ORDERED in Dec will get the ORC covered. I know it will take 3-4 months for delivery, but I hope it's what's on the compliance plate that counts because there isn't a lot of stock around at the moment.

Hi Alant, I bought my SE from ULR, Malvern in mid December, 2008. It is a 2009 model year and I had a choice of 2 - would have been 3 if I'd wanted the diesel. The upshot was I took delivery in mid January, they covered all on roads and threw in the metallic paint, all up a saving of around $5.5k. I think they might be more willing to deal if it's a stock unit rather than a factory order. You'll certainly enjoy it anyway!
Cheers, Graham

Thanks egipp,

I suspect you are right, but I was once told that the "ORC and dealer delivery off incentive" was factory funded to move 2011 plated stock, and that if the dealer throws in some sweeteners it's a bonus.

i'm still not sure if orders placed in Dec 2012 will arrive with 2012 compliance plates and will therefore be covered by the sale (if it happens). I guess it might depend on UK stock lists.

It's a big investment, so I want to have a car that suits me rather than have to make too many compromises.

Mission Accomplished! Take delivery on friday. Smile

Ended up with a demo/loan Vehicle from Lance Dixon at about 7K of RRP. Added a tow kit / Full tint and replaced the sound system with the proceeds of the trade-in which was $2500 more than offered at ULR!

Right now I'm feeling fairly happy with life.
