Another vote for Nightbreakers here - by far the quickest and most effective upgrade you can do. Xenons will give you all kinds of problems and will probably fail the new MOT regs now. Cheers,

The self leveling aspect is that despite what load you have, the lights wont blind drivers coming the other way.
In practice I find that the levelling system is not fast to respond, bumpy roads or hunps cause the lights to appear as though you are flashing them

The headlamp wash is because dirt on the Xenon lens can concentrate the beam in ways that would dazzle other drivers. That said, I cant say headlamp washers are fully capable of cleaning a lens.
The light will be diffracted by dirt causing glare, not concentrated, the washers are better than nothing but as stated on a previous thread, I feel they pander to the regs more than provide effective cleaning and are much cheaper than wipers

Anyway, a few on here have them and use them without any problem. They do make a big difference. McP put his in for a MOT this month and it passed. I changed mine back to Haologen for the day. Most MOT testers probably wouldn't even check if the cars got self leveling in honesty. The MOT isn't exactly brain surgery.
Be careful with Insurance, if the other driver claims he was dazzled they will check to see if mods have been made

As for some moaning about the dazzle. The chances are they are caused by badly aligned headlamps no matter if you have Xenons or Halogens. Properly adjusted the Xenons don't cause any bother.

the self levelling xenons , normally self level when you switch them on/start the car, and i assume they would do a check every so often, they don't continuously go up and down, like a tanks turret when its locked on target

the washer jets clean the lenses by X% which meets the regs required

well to a degree, maybe not as accurate

You're seeing double too

More carrots required and sunglasses for the other poor sods coming the other way

I have many "eye floaters" glare can be a problem, I personally find bad halogens worse than factory HID's.
Chavs with aftermarket kits fitted are the problem, or nobs in Audis with the DRL's bypassed to be full on a night
