Annoying Things

What annoying features do you find with modern cars?I can think of two with the Freelander which really annoy me.One is that I cannot use the windscreen washers without the wipers coming on, which is a really stupid idea especially in winter when the water can freeze in the washer bottle and you don't find out until the wipers scrape 3 times across the screen.Another one is the drivers seat height adjustment that does not go up without altering the seat base angle and ruining the driving position. The seat should just go straight up and down.Has anyone found any other annoying features? Stornaway grey SE auto with 18" alloys

Yes, I agree with both those things but can't think of anything else. I have tried using very strong screenwash but it still freezes. I think it is freezing at the point it comes out the nozzles rather than in the bottle.....windchill factor? John

I have posted before about the seat adjustment, just penny pinching, or a deliberate marketing decision, must be the only car in its class to get electric seats but only six way, I would pay another £50 for full adjustment.
Another one to add is the lack of illuminated buttons for the reading lights, black switch on a black surround in the dark, you need a light to find the switch to put the light on to find the switch. Its the same moans I have read many times on theses forums, shame LR didn't look at them and fix them all on the update, I have said it before, I think the poor old freelander has been left to wither and die, its a run out model that thay are not willing to invest time and money in. I think it will eventually be made in india and sold in their markets at a knock down price. If you look at the LR models and jaguars they all get regular updates to keep them competative, but not the freelander. I know it got an updated engine but I think these were developed for the evoque, as for the new boot trim, fog light surrounds and instrument graphics compare them to the updates other LR vehicles have got.

The navigation screen should be used for so much more, even the humble Mondeo screen activates phone, climate control and navigation, after all Land Rover were once owned by Ford. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

English by birth..... Yorkshire by the grace of God.
