| JST Member Since: 01 Nov 2011 Location: Lizant Posts: 1098 | I thought about changing the camshaft and pump on my 07 car. However, as it seems that the damage starts with the pump seizing/partially seizing I have gone for the controversial option of putting two stroke oil in the fuel so that the pump and injectors get a bit of extra lubrication. I am not getting into the debate about whether or not 2 stroke gives more mpg or a smoother engine.....decide that for yourself, but what is now beyond question as far as I am concerned is that to-day's diesel fuel is "drier" than before and hence does not lubricate as well.
