"Hood open" error. Anyone else?

"hood open" error

Anyone else having a problem with their LR2 displaying a "hood open" error?

Got my LR2 a week ago and love it, but noticed this morning it was giving me a "hood open" error... Tried closing it and shutting it a few times but no luck...

(The last time I'd opened the hood, prior to this error, may have been at the dealership the day I bought the car...)

Real downside of this is that the car will not lock (pushing the lock button just honks the horn b/c the hood is "open").

Dealer "fixed" it earlier today, but it's back again tonight...

Anyone else?

Thanks,
Michael

Not on mine, get the occasional tailgate open as it never wants to fully lock unless i slam it, but if slammed too hard it still is open Sad

This was a common fault on very early RRSport's and we also found that it wasn't "crying wolf" the bonnet really had come undone and was only being held by the safety catch. Take you Freelander back to the dealer and get them to check the bonnet/hood hinges are aligned OK and that there is no problem with the bonnet catches. I had my bonnet start lifting at 60mph, Autocar mag had the bonnet on their Supercaharged lift at 120 mph on the Nurbergring! Usually all that cured it was to give the bonnet/hood a really good slam shut after doing the weekly checks under the bonnet, the arguement was that the hood shouldn't need to be slammed hard! How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?
