| CliveS Member Since: 04 Jun 2016 Location: Littleborough Posts: 204      | I just replaced my throttle body (thanks to Dan @ Duckworths,) the gears were badly stripped on mine but I think it must have been that way for some time, there was no noise from it other than the faint sound of the drive motor running for a few minutes after tuning off, it appears that it's trying to drive the actuator to it's limit stops to calibrate it and failing because of the missing gear teeth.

| CliveS Member Since: 04 Jun 2016 Location: Littleborough Posts: 204      | You might struggle a bit with 3D printing the final gear, ISTR it has some springy metal contacts moulded into the back of it, they're used to make contact with a potentiometer or switch embedded in the main moulding. | ||

Added a litre of light 15-40w for Tdi and noise and rattle has stopped. In the end I had it replaced for 240 euros and the shuddering has gone. Should I expect better fuel economy now? | ||
