Having just had the painful joy of finding the right parts for my brakes, I found a few videos online of people replacing their non-vented discs for vented ones and generally needed new callipers that ...

So last year at service the guy said my headlight bulbs had at some point exploded, which from a quick google search is very common. I have been running Night Breakers. I had the car serviced a couple ...

So had my 2014 SD4 in for a service a few days ago and the garage (indie) said both front wheel bearings have play and have a bit of grinding (to be fair I have noticed a drone when driving) and one r ...

Yup, that’s where my head is going - I could waste a huge amount of time and get nowhere. I may have to accept the trade off of the slightly dulled sound when using the isolator. The CarPlay unit wa ...

Ok, so a further update.

1. Unplugging the dashcam from the fuse box didn’t help.
2. Using a power supply from the mains, if I power the CarPlay unit, I still get the ground loop noise. If I r ...

Thanks again Ian. Yeah from all the searching I have done it also gives pretty much the same info - filters, grounding, accept the issue and move on.

I’ve just ordered one of those power filters ...

Meant to say that when I was testing it again the other day I noticed there was a constant level noise with just the ignition on - engine wasn’t running. Once engine running, the noise was related t ...

Battery was replaced last year with an appropriate AGM one. So hopefully not that.

Yeah I can only assume I have something going on - although I’m scared to dig too far as this fairly cheap upgr ...

Don’t apologise Ian! You and everyone else have been exceptionally helpful. It could well be the more complex things you suggested that could be the problem - I haven’t yet looked into those. I wa ...

Just a little update to this. I have just hardwired the unit into the passenger footwell fusebox, earthed to the bolts in that area and the noise is still there.

Fuse F5 in the fuse box behind the glovebox is what you need. Piggyback off it.

(I wouldn't use a Piggyback into another one)

F5 on mine is the ABS. Not sure I want to risk bothering that system ...

Yeah I’ve looked at that in the past. It’s a nice bit of kit and would free up the fuse space in the glovebox. Wish I’d considered that before I got the other piggyback and 12v socket cable. Try ...
