My Dec '10 MY 11 SD4 Auto averages just under 39mpg now at 12,500 miles. Some tank fulls at over 40, some 36mpg
It really started to improve at about 8,000 miles.

3 weeks of snow in a year in the UK is regarded as bad winter, it cost me £0 on Tyres over winter others have to spend up to £500+ on winters Tyres, I'm I missing something not just £££.

In the real world, the SD4 auto should see an average of between 26 and 32mpg depending on driving style.
