The circuit board from stalk was duff. Replaced and now fine. Yep by all accounts quite unusual (and yes unlucky!)

Thanks all, just thought I'd update. The auto-electrician has now fixed this. It was the stalk switch. Needed circuit board etc. Quite a costly affair....

Just done a search on this issue but can't find anything, so mustn't be a common fault!
My father's 08 plate SE Auto has a rear wiper which won't stop.
Mechanic had a quick look today around wiring ...

Yet 3/3 freelanders are fitted with 13" !!

The good 'ol LR dealer couldn't fix, just re-lubed which didn't work.
Was coming round to the new door latch theory myself. They seem to be about £40.
Does anyone know if they are easy to fit?
