My first thought on difficult starting at -1 would be the battery rather than the glowplugs.
Mine starts fine at -1 but this morning at -9 it didnt want to know

The "prog" button does direct the air to the front screen and turn the rear screens on but it is not noticeably any warmer air??

2007 pushing 60k and still on original battery, tested 2 days ago with volt meter and fine
a volt meter will not give you a proper test though |
