looking at the picture of the modified dash with the hole were the radio was
I think i prefer funsmarts layout

I also got hold of a FL2 alpine sat nav screen.
I would like to interphase a garmin/kenwood gps but don't hold out much hope after reading this post.

I know this is no help to your problem, but most diesel Landrovers here come with a FBH (Fuel burning heater) which cut's in when the temp drops below 4 or 5c.
