These are not just pull off and fit. They need to be carefully aligned when putting back so when stripping mark carriers to check exactly the rebuild setup.

The misting of oil on that protecting rubber sleeve means you’re struts are probably stuffed. The sleeve is there to keep crap off the strut piston rod and needs to be retained or be on both sides.
