Well I had a spare day so I removed the ptu and replaced all the seals, the PTU was leaking from both sides.

I would say a furry friend has chewed through that...the plastic wouldn't just disintegrate like that under normal use..

Weight of vehicle must be on suspension when tightening bolts, and theres a specific order to tightening as well,

I think you might be right…I’ve heard differing opinions on subframe alignment, some say it’s needed and some not. I played safe and kept a bolt in but who knows may not have needed to.
