| 18 degress isnt really all that steep, so if you have HDC activated all the time, at least round city driving so it doesnt deactivate above 50 mph it should work with most hill starts. Can anyone clar ... |

I went to a steep hill, activated HDC and stopped on the steep slope using footbrake, released footbrake to being building revs but just rolled backwards???

What you are referring to is the HDC (Hill Desent Control).
The GRC (Gradient Release Control) is supposed to stopped the car from gaining speed rapidly when the footbrake is released ... |
