Yes I suppose so, but is comparing mpg on a vehicle which came out in 2016 with one from 2006 really meaningful?

It is worth noting that DRL do not come on when vehicle is not in gear.

My SD4 has always delivered about 34 around town and 39/40 on longer runs, but drops quite a bit on motorway runs if I push 80 .

Update

So I removed the Haldex fuse ( FB1 in the boot on MY13 facelift ) and drove for a few days.
Slipping noise stills occurs so at least I know it's not the Haldex.

I did have a similar problem recently when my EPB stuck after coffee was spilled into the switch. I got it by putting the car into reverse and giving it some throttle.
