Living up here in Scotland and will never be in the M25.
What happens if the diversions direct you within the M25 circle.
Will that bring you into Mr Khan,s ULEZ?
If you got fined would the diversion give you an “out” against the fine.
Just wondering. Mind goes off at a tangent sometimes.

view forum post
_________________
Jim A

I have a FRLR model 09 TD 2.2. I noticed recently a heavy smell of diesel fumes in the cabin when I am driving for a while in an ascent and the engine is hot. The technician said it could originate from the EGR valve and If I want a temporary solution I could try changing the COVER - ENGINE COMPARTMENT and the INSULATOR - DASH PANEL. However, the cost of changing these parts is not negligible and I would like to hear opinions about the possible cause and suggested remedy for this problem.

view forum post
Morning

Looking to change up cars and the freelander 2 peaked my interest (following JayEmm on cars review). But as I currently do less than 5000 miles a yr (local commute and fortnight trip away) is the freelander ruled out due to its diesel engine? i.e. filter clogging and other issues with diesel vehicles not used for long trips.
Would be interested to know if others are using theirs on a limited mileage basis and incurring any issues before I consider this...

view forum post
After roughly twelve years of ownership the Freelander has now gone.
Although I appear to have been plagued with problems, I have always enjoyed driving it.
There is absolutely nothing that JLR produce now that suits my needs, which are a lot less now.
So I have replaced it with a Dacia Duster 4x4 with the 1.5 DCI engine. This is an engine I am very familiar with as it's used in so many vehicles. We have had six Renault Clio's of various sorts in our family all with...

view forum post
_________________
Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
