Haldex playing up since update

Hi all
It’s been a while
Having fitted my third lot of diff bearings in as many years I decided to have the Haldex software updated

The first bearing where done by a so called specialist (when I stripped it it had Chinese bearings) lasted 9000 miles in 13 months. The second time I did it a and fitted FAG bearings, lasted 13000 miles in 2 years

This time TIMKEN bearing and haldex update

NOW THE HALDEX IS JUDDERING AND BANGING

I HAVE CLEANED PUMP FILTER AND REPLACED THE OTHER FILTER AND OIL

HELP, HELP, HELP

Has anyone stripped a haldex and fitted new friction plates

ARE MY HALDEX FRICTION PLATES WORN OUT

IS IT THE FEBI 101171 oil I used

Or shall I get the out software reinstalled if possible

I think most of us go to Bells Engineering for major Diff & Haldex issues.

Quote:
There are several issues these [Haldex] units can suffer, but one of the biggest problems is the unit releasing correctly, giving a juddering/graunching effect during slow speed maneuvers. After many, many hours of research and testing we have now solved this issue and can recondition these units back to a fully functioning unit. We are the only people in the world who have solved this problem and can offer properly functioning units. The rebuild process is extremely complicated and requires specialist tools and knowledge, that we have developed ourselves in house.

If you would like us to recondition your own unit we are happy to do this and can return it within 3 days. This option will keep your costs to a minimum,

12 month warranty

Being an ex mechanic I like to try and fix things myself

For example I fitted all 4 bearings with Timkin bearings new oil seals crush tube haldex filter and oils for £175

The thing that’s getting me is that the haldex worked fine before I did the oil and filters and update

My Theory is that the update in order to make the way the haldex engages smoother is to engage slower and if the plates are worn then they will take even longer to engage therefore giving the slip and knock feel I am getting
