England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Baltic Blue

As Evoque is built on the same production line as Freelander and by the same team I would hope that it will have the same level of reliability as the Freelander.
But ..............only time will tell.

My current Freelander is coming up to 10 months old and has yet to go anywhere near a Dealer.

While the Evoque isn't for me, I'm hoping it points the way to a more fuel efficient and lower emissions (read "lower tax") FL3.

If the Evoque also fulfills the role of "trendy SUV about town", then it may allow the FL3 to be freed from those shackles completely and become properly focused on being an even more functional 4x4.

It's all good news as far as I'm concerned.

Evoque think I will go for a tst drive

I think the Evoque is too low and the seating position is not high enough. The car looks great in white but it is expensive.I think I will have a test drive though and then decide whether to order one or not. Stornaway grey SE auto with 18" alloys

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

we looked at the Evoque for the first time yesterday at Shields in Glasgow.

must say very impressed with the five door prestige which had a lux pack plus full glass roof added, which brought it up to £43K.

we were told that delivery would be March/April next year and they could not give you a trade in value until then.

quality and finish seems to be brilliant ( Range Rover standard ) and once spending some time in it our Freelander did seem a bit basic !!

didn't have a test drive yesterday, but may arrange.

Iain

The interior quality undoubtedly compares very well with the Freelander, but how does it compare to a similarly price (actually £40,143, after discount) Disco 4 XS Auto?

The all black one i saw doesn't look girly

black, black interior, black roof and black wheels, with the full bodykit on looks very mean and aggressive, bit like the new KITT in knight rider Laughing

I agree, I saw a black Dynamic 5 door with the shaddow Chrome alloys in a showroom last week & that looked awsome! (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

im sure the high volume of sales / pre-orders will fill the piggy bank at the R&D department, is the FL2 the next model for a redesign though? Im sure I heard somewhere the RRS was going to be next? I hope some of the features in the Evoque make it into the FL2 and hopefully LR will come up with a few new ones to put in the FL2 that will make Evoque owners green with envy!!

I doubt it as Range Rover is the more premium side of LR so the Land Rover models will generally be lesser specced. (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.

Saw a white one being driven on Jersey yesterday..that's brave with a new car and all those low road hugging stone walls.

Looked nice but not my cup of tea..a bit too trendy..prefer LR to RR

Evoque test drive

Test drove an Evoque last week.It was the Dynamic 5 door 190 bhp auto and it was fantastic.Very quiet and rides beautifuuly even on 19" rims.Quite fast and handles really well.Never had so many people looking at the car as I drove around. The one I would go for is the Pure sd4 4+4 auto at about £31000 but the waiting list of 7-9 months puts me off. Also it is not as high up a driving position as I would have liked and this might be the stumbling block.Dealer reckoned that all the demonstrators will sell for list price after 3 months so no bargains there! Stornaway grey SE auto with 18" alloys

Looked quite good in black.

Picked up mine yesterday, so far so good, showing 40.1 mpg from a tight engine im happy with that.

Sold the FL2 back to the dealer with very little loss from over 2 years of ownership Thumbs Up

Very nice, interested to know what the tyres are, they look like the new Pirelli Ice and Snow? Are they standard?

Great colour too Thumbs Up
