Do you reckon this filter needed changing?

So, our TD4 S has reached 60,000 miles.
I rang Hunters of Guildford and they quoted £480 for a service Rolling with laughter

As I am currently unemployed, I can't afford that and decided I will do the work myself.

In theory my vehicle has a service history, but when I removed the current air filter I was shocked. Shocked
I have never known an air filter to be this blocked before.

What do you guys reckon, is this normal for 15,000 miles of use?
I never had this in my Disco 2 V8 that did similar mileages between services.

Guess which one is the new filter and which one is the old one

I think the air filter is only changed only on a B service, so in theory it is not actually due for change as it should/would have been done on the last one Question

Looking at the service schedule in one of the stickies, the 60,000 mile service is a B service, hence, I'm changing it.

That doesn't look right for a 15k filter. Looks like it's done 60k!

On my ex company cars, i used to mark with tipex or tape over parts which should be inspected/replaced according to the service schedule. Not L/R i might add.
I found shortcuts almost every time. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Unless you have been driving in very dusty dirty roads etc then that filter has been in there far longer than you first thought Shocked
