Be looking around for AT Tyres of 235 60 18 size, but can only find 255 60 18. As anyone gone for an 18" in this size apart from the 255 size.

Can't answer you question, i've got 17's.
But, i've also been looking for a A/T tyre but got bogged down as the handbook and the sticker on the drivers 'B' post both say 'V' rated and most A/T's are 'H' rated.
Got any thoughts on this? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Doesn't look like they do one There was talk on another forum of the General AT coming in on 18" but nothing on any official sites

Personally I'd love to see the new Cooper ST Maxx do a size to fit the freelander 2. But not seen anything to suggest yet. I guess there is not sufficient demand for this size.

I do not think you can fit the 255 's without a spacer and personally don't what o go down that route

Don't think having a H rated tyre is a problem as most winter Tyres are H rated, it's just getting hold of a A/T tyre at this size, that's if they do one. May I'll have to go a wheel size down but that's more cost or is 235 60 18 an odd ball size in the A/T tyre world. you'll think with it being a Land Rover this wouldn't be a problem.

Pirelli Scorpion have some, just that the speed rating on them is T

Can't help with 18's but as for 17's I can strongly reccomended the new general grabber A/T's
I do know a few people running 18+ wheels that say cooper cater well for bigger sizes.

I did a lot of looking around before ordering a new SD4 and in the end it was easier to get the dealer to swap the 18" rims for 17". There are numerous A/T tyre options available for 17" rims but very few (read hard to get a very expensive) for the 18" rim spec. I also found it hard to find 17" non-LR rims as I'm not fussed on the current design but that was also very difficult. I am definitely glad I went the A/T path though as it makes the FL2 stick like mud. In an ideal world, I'd have 18 or 19" with road tyres for every day work and a set of 17" with muddies for play. This ideal world would include a nice big garage, a big hyraulic jack, air-wrench and plenty of room to store a spare set of wheels

what I never understood is why they offer tyres in 18" and 19" specs that don't have any AT available. I've got 19" and unless I drop to 17", there isn't anything that suits for AT. I mean this IS a vehicle you are meant to go off-road in.
How about RR's, some got 20", what do they wear going off-road, or they never leave the tarmac?

But when you go up in sizes you end up with a smaller aspect ratio to keep the rolling circumference, the sidewall is not very big. Surely that in itself is not a good formulae for off roading, there is no give, twist etc needed for all terrain.
I would think 'small sidewall' tyres are just not suitable for off roading.

Very good point EYorkshire. Without the rubber height, no point in having an All Terrian tyre. Begs the question as Huang alluded to, why do they promote them as 4WD or All terrain vehicles but provide them with a wheel config that doesn't suit offroading?

G4 Freelanders were fitted with 17" wheels and Goodyear MT's.
