Dear peeps,

i get a wierd vibration when engaging reverse and also when moving on reverse a loud unusual sound (as if i am on sports exhausts) is heard. Any feedback on this would be appreciated.

My thoughts:

is the handbrake releasing fully and the sound/vibration is due to been forced?

    a gear box problem?

    something jammed in the disc

it is definitely not the handbrake or disc issue. i am thinking gearbox too..but i can't confirm. the sound and vibrations goes away when accelerating further. It is usually noticeable when stationery and at times when steering is turned left or right the sound appears as well. is the power steering unit in any way related to the gearbox?

The noise is heard stationary Question could it be the power steering motor, they go quite often, not sure of symptoms though Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
