That'll explain the lack of pictures, you are allowed to let go of the wheel occasionally Whistle

Actually, I've got loads of pictures, I just haven't stopped long enough to work out how to download the photos from my new camera! Rolling Eyes

That is one shiny motor, is it treated with anything?

Get yourself a freely.com sticker,

Paul

Just had another thought, when did you order, this colour was not an option when I ordered, still had no confirmation of whether it will be Zematt or Indus silver, it's due in two weeks Confused

Thanks for the comments. i was pretty unsure about the colour but really pleased I got this one now.

The privacy glass is aftermarket and a little darker than standard. Was fitted through Guy Salmon in Portsmouth before I picked it up. Cool

@mcphersonstrut: Advertising. Yeah these normally come off on the first day, but to be honest I have been really impressed with the level of service from these guys. They pulled out all the stops to get me a car in 2 days so I'm gonna give them a couple of weeks free advertising before it comes off. Whistle

@ taztastic: Was unsold stock. Got a good deal on it for registering before Aug 1st. I understand from earlier in the thread that Bali Blue is discontinued because of the factory damage in the tsunami... So not many of these around now... Its been replaced with Buckingham Blue apparently. Confused

I managed to get a good deal on an August reg, the dealer has a Bali blue in the showroom, I went for a weird spec though, cant wait, although two weeks on a Majorcan beach will pass the time over the next two weeks.
Other examples of Bali appear to have a purple hue, yours doesn't, it is a stunning colour, enjoy Thumbs Up

Sounds great! Yes the sun and sea will help that time pass for sure.

I noticed a slight purple hue tonight when a car pulled in the drive, so it probably starts showing up in bright sunlight.

Look forward to seeing it when you get delivery Smile

This really is the most satisfying car I have ever owned!

Very happy with all aspects and the fuel economy is excellent for a car in this class.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum!

With regard to the running in, when I took delivery of the vehicle I asked the dealer specifically on this matter and he reassured me that there is no speed limits set upto any particular milege.(He further encouraged me by mentioning that the temperory registration will not be picked by speed cameras.)Anyway I tried to be as gentle as possible with the engine during my initial drive to home which was a 500km drive.I was certainly not in that mood for my next long drive which spanned 3500km over 5days. I am glad I went for an extended warranty on the engine for 5 years which came at a very reasonable rate.

One thing I have noticed with the auto SD4 engine is whether you drive it at 120 or 160km/hr it will perform with the same fuel efficiency.9.8L/100km in my case.

Wishing you many miles of happy and exciting partnership with your new 4X4 Thumbs Up

Thank you Jay, appreciate your comments and feedback.

I've been keeping below 70mph and 3,000rpm for the first 600 miles and just starting to drive it in my normal style.

Really enjoying the car and got a 600 mile round trip this week, so looking forward to spending some good time in the car Smile 2012 DISCOVERY 4 GS AUTO ORKNEY GREY

I read that modern engines are not so sensitive to engine speed during running in, but what is important is to regularly put the engine under load, which for some reason helps to bed in the piston rings. For that reason the worst thing you can do is drive very steadily with the cruise control on a long flat road. Varying the speed and occasionally planting your foot seems to be a good idea.
