problems..........what problems !?

There seems to be many more "negative" posts about reliability issues with the FL2 - than favourable. (However, these types of forums will always attract the more extreme circumstances - since they are the most interesting).

But trying to put things in perspective - does anyone know how many FL2's are rolling out of the factory each month ?

For example, if its 100's - then all the issues mentioned here would not be too worrying. But if its 40 or 50 units per month - then these reliability issues would be more concerning..........

PS - I ordered a FL2 2.2S at the start of Aug - should be delivered to Denmark mid Dec. I can't wait - but also have a little trepidation !

Looking at the problems which have been raised a majority are minor niggles and glitches and are for me not issues taht put me off the FL2 at all.

Scotland 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Indus Silver

Last i heard a few months ago it was about 11,000 since production began. Not sure if that was UK sales or worldwide but everywhere we go, guaranteed to see other ones.
Our only problem was the rear transmission sensor error which was a common fault on the earlier vehicles. It has now done over 5k miles. A friend had a fault with the automatic wipers.
All said and done, very happy, with both the vehicle and the dealer. Thumbs Up

No worries. it's a great vehicle. Enjoy it. I hope you ordered an alloy as the spare. They are expensive to buy afterwards but £120 if requested at time of purchase. Out with the old (2007 SE)
In with the new (2012 Dynamic with everything). Now also gone.

The S model over here is fitted with 17" alloys - but I traded up for the 18" alloys (and as you advise, also got a matching 18" spare).

Although the wheelarches will take 19" to 21" alloys (and they look fantastic) - I thought that 18" still leaves a little protection for when the girlfriend mounts the kerb Wink Big Cry

The (German) Works-Director of Halewood continues to emphasise that under his management quality will go over quantity. At present, 300 to 350 Freelander 2 and Jag's are produced daily. The maximum capacity is reported to be
around 500.

Apparently mine's an October build - so I hope he is right !

I don't know where all those FL's are delivered - but it's not over here. I've only seen 2 ; 1 in Val D'Isere (French plates in March) and 1 in Denmark (on Swedish plates.......)

Didn't put me off or others despite some scaremongers writing their reviews for the papers.
Apparently they are selling like hotcakes out here and it looks like everywhere else in the world too.
Am not going to worry about it anyway and look forward to my new girlfriend arrival in Dec Thumbs Up

Thanks Goldstone69. I`ve been lucky so far, but 1,000 miles is nothing in the life of a vehicle. However, am very pleased so far. Thumbs Up Freelander 2 GS Auto black + privacy glass
