Detailed my FL2 today.

Was going to do this two weeks ago; all done today after 9.5 hours non stop; i mean non stop, no brews, food etc. My shoulders hurt now Crying or Very sad

Anyway, this is what i did,
Jet wash, two bucket shampoo.
Clayed whole car.
Rewashed
Meguiars Scratch X whole car.
Meguiars Deep Crystal polish, good stuff this.
Meguiars Gold Class Wax
Finished off with Meguiars Ulimate Detailer.

No, i don't work for Meg or endorse thier products in any way!!

Car looks suberb now, it's Santorini Black swirl free!! i took some pics with my Nikon D90 but i don't know how to upload to this site.
I read the instructions under FAQ's, but it's complete gobbledegook to me. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Simont,
No probs mate, can you wait till the footy season so i could combine your detailing visit with Newcastle v Stoke.
Of course, i'd expect you to pay for the limo and five star hotel.
And my five other mates Laughing Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I used Autoglym for years, as did Bentley/RR and Aston.
I'm afraid it's a bit behind the times now, Meg Deep Crystal Polish is better than Super Resin Polish, i compared them both on the same panel Meg gives a better 'wet look' finish. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

For dark colours, don't use autoglym SRP. Use ultra deep shine instead, it was developed for darker colours and doesn't leave that chalky finish like SRP Thumbs Up

Although I too have converted to Megs. Here's the Defender (4 years old, used as is should be) after I gave it similar treatment last weekend.

V. Nice. I do think it's worth the effort, dark colours really need it.
I await the wet stuff from above to ruin all my work! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Sumatra Black

Thought I would give my new DA polisher a go this weekend, so car washed on Friday evening and spent most of yesterday cleaning (detailing) and polishing it
Power Wash off loose dirt
Snow Foam
Wash with 2BM
Clay
Wash again
Glaze with Poorboy’s Black Hole (With new DA)
Wax with Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax 2.0
Wheels treated with Wonder Wheels, before washing and snow foaming
Plus all grey & black plastic trim treated with Autoglym’s Vinyl & Rubber Care

Really surprised at how the metal flake stands out, may be a combination of the DA with the Poorboy’s Black Hole, must admit to not been that impressed with it in the past when applying by hand

Not bad if I say so myself, and Black is still the colour to have

Also noticed this when the sun was out, might make a good photo for a Calendar, that was metioned sometime a go
