They say:
The AlliSport design of EGR valve bypass does not interfere with the engine ECU systems, and will not cause any faults to be recorded or warnings lights to occur.
But I don't see how they do this, because the engine ECU uses signal from MAF (mass air flow) sensor to see if the EGR valve is doing its job. For a specific RPM, the volume of intake air is constant and when the EGR opens, part of the engine intake air is from exhaust gases and this translates in a lower fresh air intake. And viceversa.
And the fresh air intake is measured by the MAF sensor. So you can't fool so easily the ECU.
A proper EGR "removal" is by modifying the EGR maps inside ECU. Meaning - chiptuning.

See how I did 'remove' EGR from T4 engine.

The idea is simply minimal changes to the engine, minimal costs. the I'm not sure only about the influence over the DPF.

That's a good link in principle, -pd-, but its the engine on a VW T4! 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

I do not know the ECU differences between the VW and LR motors, which may affect the result. The principle may be good, and the mod certainly seems to be popular on the FL1. If it were beneficial/feasible/possible on the FL2 I imagine it would have been offered by some aftermarket modder/tuner by now. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)
