Playing MP3 DVDs?

Does anyone know if it's safe (or even possible) to play DVDs with MP3s recorded on them in the premium 6-changer audio unit?

The manual says "Do not use discs with paper labels, Dual Discs or DVDPlus discs".

By specifically mentioning DVDPlus discs, does that imply that other types of DVD discs (e.g DVD+R, DVD-R) can be used?

I don't think the head unit will be able to read a DVD

I've tried DVDs with MP3s on them and they don't work.

I have made up several MP3 Cds and you can burn several albums onto a 700 MB disc so if you make up 6 of these then that is more than you need I think

Scotland 2007 LR2 TD4 HSE Manual Narvik Black

Having played around with MP3 CDs - they are OK - but difficult to find stuff. Have got used to having an Alpine head unit with ipod direct connect on my now departed Mit evo 9. Eg connecting cable from back of head unit meant ipod could just be left in the glove box and song/artist selection done from head unit....

Anybody know of a good way of linking in ipod to LR2 head unit?

Good tip - thanks

There seem to be one or two at:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/iPod-interface-adapt...dZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Connects2-CTALRIPOD0...dZViewItem

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-LANDROVER-MINI-F...dZViewItem

Though I think it will need a bit of enquiry to get the right version for LR2...
