Yeah, I see where your coming from. I only use a Visa for online stuff, absolutely nothing else. I picked Barclaycard for the cash back you get. I always pay it off in full at the end of the month. What could go wrong?

I didn't appreciate they more than make up for it by pinching my money x 3. Never had the problem before and boy I regret it. What would happen if I needed the 800 quid extra they took? I'd have to ask the bank for an overdraft! Last time I had one of those was in the early 80's. I certainly had better things to do on a Monday afternoon than talk to a call centre and visit my bank. Despite this I have to wait 7-10 days and cross my fingers they can find the third payment for which I can give them transaction codes for and my bank will vouch for that went to Barclaycard. Why this long length of time is beyond me. Then after that I have to ask them to return it to my bank account, bloody cheek!

what are they trying to do? Get back their ISA interest they paid me last week?

Hot Press - they have found the third payment and are crediting it all to my bank. Only got to wait up to 5 days for the money to surface there. Some digital age we live in. Pidgeon post is quicker. Then I got a lecture about paying by Switch via their web site, when it's best to set up a Direct Debit for a variable balance. Yeah, right, I can just see it, 'ooops Sir, we accidently moved the decimal place by one or two.' Needless they couldn't tell me what went wrong and said another department would probably contact me.
