on-board computer resets itself?

I have found a number of times that my trip and fuel computer likes to reset itself. Very annoying indeed!!!
Has anyone had this problem?

Cheers

Yea I have had it happen. Doesn't bother me though. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

This normally happens if you start the car too quickly after docking the fob. about 5 second gap normally stops this from happening.

It isn't normal for the onboard computer info to resets to zero, no matter what you do, besides reset it yourself.
Earlier cars (VIN range H000200-H063923) needs a software recalibration.
Ask for Technical Bulletin LTB00093.

New one on me, this one. Tend to agree with Alex, shouldn't happen.

I don't generally mess about when starting. Fob in, clutch down, Start button pressed. If I take more than 3 secs I'd be surprised. Engine is normally running before I clip in my seat-belt. All one fluid action.

Never had an issue with a self re-set. We Don't Care About Pot Holes !!

Seems that all of you complaining about it have cars from MY2007. Look if the VIN fits.
The procedure (LTB00093) will update the Central Junction Box and the Instrument Cluster firmware.
No matter how quick you are, this should not happen.
For example I push the key with the thumb and almost in the same time I push the start button with the middle (sexual Laughing ) finger. It never failed to start. Not to mention that never resets its info. Maybe it likes that way... Laughing Laughing

My 07 TD4 reset itself occasionally but the software update cured the problem which never re-occured. Now sold

My FL2 is 2010 and it has happened to me a few times. As a recall maybe I was in hurry in starting the car but I beleive that this should not cause a reset. Agree that it is frustrating.

Just had mine booked in for this fault, after spitting out the key as well as resetting the trip computer again. Half hour labour for this upgrade and not covered on the extended warranty!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad
