Any one know if you can get replacement quick release connectors for the fuel supply on the diesel filter. I think the 'O' rings on mine are letting in air.



It's the two near the front of the car I am after. the one from the tank I think is generic but the other houses the fuel temperature sensor.

Someone must have changed them at some time. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

Mine are also allowing air in, and I have a fuel related misfire, which I'm hoping is connected to the leaking seals.
I've been unable to find the O ring size so far.

The left one is on the filter, so each filter to its own.
As for the right one, just cut the pipe and adapt something with clips.
If I am thinking, on the left you can replace the plastic pipe with a copper tube with a diameter slightly bigger than the plastic pipe.
In that way it will be a tight insert and you don't need to worry about damaging/enlarging the oring inside because, like I said, it's new with each filter.

You can't cut the pipe to the lift pump, as the fuel temperature sensor is part of the connection to the filter. I can get the complete pipe and sensor between the filter and lift pump, but I'm reluctant to spend £46 for a potentially leaking 50 Pence O ring.  2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

I would rather not cut the pipes and bodge the job.
If you could get the 'O' rings you would probably destroy the fitting getting the old ones out.
I think I have managed to stop the air at these points. I took the connections off and put a couple of turns of PTFE tape on the spigots and refitted the connections. I do not know if the tape is diesel resistant but it appears to have stopped the bubbles in the fuel line.
Don't know if that has cured the stating issue, I'll have to try it and see. If that fails I'll be looking at a leak off test. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

I have considered PTFE tape myself, but a replacement O ring is preferable, just in case a small particle of PTFE makes it's way to the injectors. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.

It's a thought Nodge, but if you keep the tape away from the spigot opening the worst that can happen is it will just bunch up and stop you being able to make the connection. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !

I use Liquid PTFE for difficult plumbing leaks and it works like a charm - I don't know whether it would survive the Diesel but might be worth a try (Available from Screwfix for not much dosh!) and wont block the injectors if a bit gets away.

I have never used liquid FTFE as I am a bit old school. Same reason I don't like plastic pipe for heating.  Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
