United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Rimini Red

Door mirrors, now I am confused. New style with larger glass and two piece construction allowing for changeable caps FROM 2011, yet athelstan says he has 'larger' mirrors on his early 2010 model? Can anyone give a definitive answer??
Also is the clock in the info area a programable feature in later models? I have it along with instantaneous fuel readout. Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Which style of mirrors are on your 2010? Is it the larger mirror with removable cap and flat visor above the glass as you look down from the top of the morror or it the smaller glass area with a distinctive curve in the visor above the glass as you look down from the top of the mirror? p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Hi, with the curve, as in the black one on the video, http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Landrover-Freelander...5d2cc80334
which puzzles me as my car was registered 30/6/10 and I was told it was a MY10 car.......My nearside mirror is damaged, hence my original interest! Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

SPN are you sure yours is MY2010, and not bought a MY2009 spec in 2010

Her Ladyship's MY2010 FL2 "Newport" (Swiss market model only) was built during October '09 and delivered to her on 20.11.2009, it has:

1: The larger door mirrors - fully colour coded (Ipanema Sand) covers plus their arm and door attachment panel.
2: LCD dash display includes a clock plus all the other common "information" data on consumption, range etc..

So simply saying only MY2011 has the larger door mirrors and the clock on the lcd dash display is misleading.

Athelstan, any chance of a picture, never seen the mirror colour coded door attachment panel ever. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I'll do my best - I don't take photographs (except in emergencies) so will ask my daughter - she's recently turned 7yrs and I bought her one of those digital SLR's for her birthday as she kept "stealing" mummies Canon Sure Shot device.

Athelston, Great photo's, your daughter has some fantastic scenery to photograph Thumbs Up
Never seen the mirror mounting on the door colour coded before, it that unique to the Swiss market?

JT, Athelstons mirrors are the latest ones, also the link says as fitted up to 2009? p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

Nice photo, you are truly 'in the mountains'
Looks like the newer mirror, perhaps it was a prototype for the Swiss Market!
I will give up on mirrors now and ask the dealer if they can fix it at first service....que sigh of relief from everyone else! Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.

In answer to your question:
1: In the Swiss market only the Newport model had the fully colour coded mirrors/arms and door panel, all the other standard FL2 models in MY2010 and now MY2011 have either black casings or only half the mirror body colour coded. Also you cannot now get colour coded door handles as standard.

2: I do not know if LR offered the fully colour coded door mirrors in other global markets for "special" models of FL2's in MY2010.

Note: this is to all those who refer to Ipanema Sand as I quote from many "Threads" on here: Biege or Brown. As you can see from my daughter's photos it is not at all anywhere near that spectrum of the colour palette. What we have noticed in the last 14mths since taking delivery is that it is very sensitive to the prevailing natural light conditions, for example in winter it picks up a silver-blue hue and during last summer on our Spanish road trip is cast a distinct golden hue. But biege or brown - never.

Notice that the 2011 model the front grille is difference too. Anyway, can the grille taken out separately from front bumper or is a whole pce set? Please see below picture for reference.
