Top Gear Copying

Just watching top gear and in the 1st episode they have copied two programs

The Skoda Yeti tattoo= Jackass SteveO tattoo

the Beetle Helicopter drop= Mythbusters (Saab advert) episode

Big disappointing that they are looking for inspiration from other programs and copying them Sad Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

IMHO, Top Gear has been going down hill for a few years. It's just an excuse for 'The Boys' to have a good time. Crying or Very sad We Don't Care About Pot Holes !!

Clarkson admitted about the tattoo thing...didn't agree with the Yeti being smoother than the RR though!

The bit that wound me up is there was ANOTHER 911 feature Big Cry I hate the things and it seems they're on all the time! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Consider yourselves lucky. Have you seen Top Gear America?? Big Cry Utter crap.

We, on the wrong side of the pond haven't had a new episode of Top Gear in well over a year. The only way that I can see some of the newish episodes is via illegal torrents. Rolling Eyes

That's excellent!

I think the Top Gear concept as it is is starting to wear a bit thin, there's too fewer things that are new and entertaining that they're coming up with.

I enjoyed the bike and the atom though, shame they wouldn't let the bike run on track tyres like the car... Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Looked forward to the new series for some time and wasnt that impressed with it to be honest! Unfortunately the show is more about their banter with cars thrown in now and again than a proper car show. It wouldnt hurt if they roadtested 'proper' cars (that joe public can afford) and done some more challenges (no doubt they will soon as they earn good money sticking them onto DVD)

Take a look at 'fifth gear' (its on that channel next to channel 4) and watch a down to earth car show. (at least they have roadtested the FL2 2 or 3 times - see you-tube!!)

Although a little bit over the top with the helicopter I quite liked the test of the Skoda Yeti! Smile

Thought exactly the same as I watched it. Love mythbusters top show. Don't put petrol in a diesel. They don't run well.

5th Gear, down to earth car show!? I'd rather stab myself in the eye than watch it!

It's got 3 prats on it that just care about being over the top and how sideways stuff goes and another presenter that can't drive or be funny.

At least Top Gear's quite amusing!

Top Gear has lost the plot. Three blokes who think they are funny but are really quite boring. What is wrong with a Car show that deals with cars - Not Egos!!!! Evil or Very Mad

Top Gear is ace... admittedly the first episode this series was a bit of let down but I still enjoyed it...

I like fifth gear also but I much prefer Top Gear. I don’t care if it is a bunch of middle age men having fun, at least you can escape during the hour and join them in their fun! Anyone who does not enjoy their banter I think is just bitter and a bit jealous(IMO)! Very Happy

I do think that they may becoming to an end now though as there is only so much of the same format you can do… I hope I’m wrong but I’ll guess we will see Thumbs Up Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

Could not disagree more. The show is as funny as ever and all 3 are good presenters. Clarkson is a legend, top man.

Never forget when he was driving a Kia Magentis and he commented that it was a mondeo sized car for fiesta money but he then went on to say that there is a reason it is so cheap, "It's crap!"
